Inside Zara McDermott’s workout regime as she shares fitness tips

Zara McDermott has shared her intense workout schedule with her 1.6million Instagram followers after going on a health and fitness journey in recent years.

The former Love Island contestant, who was recently forced to clear up speculation that she was pregnant, took to her Instagram Story to answer questions from her followers during a Q&A.

Prior to the interactive session, the 24 year old posted a snap of her looking radiant after just finishing a workout.

The reality TV star wore some matching grey shorts and a matching zip crop top as she wrote: “good morning” followed by a yellow heart emoji.

“Had the best session this morning,” she added.

As a result, Zara’s sporty post inspired a lot of fans to ask fitness related questions, with one follower asking her what her typical weekly workout routine looked like.

In response, the social media personality revealed that she focused predominantly on weight and resistance training.

Giving a brief day-to-day breakdown, she wrote: “Day 1: hamstrings! RDL variations or I use the barbell, leg curl machine, sometimes I use sliders, walking lunges.

“Day 2: hip thrusts! I go to my max weight & do some variations. I do a lot of sets. Then probably some reverse lunges with elevation. Plus I do a lot of mobility work on the days I thrust.”

She also explained that she liked to use different exercises to help target her whole body over the course of her weekly sessions.

“Day 3: Mix of lower & upper body. Conventional deadlifts / sumo deadlifts, and then I also do some pull movements, such as bent over rows,” she continued.

“Day 4: another upper/lower mix. Some kind of squats such as front squats would likely be on this day. And then recently I’ve been trying to do 10 mins on stairmaster. Would also probably do some elevated heel squats with a dumbbell in my hand. And some leg extension.”

The news of Zara’s exercise regime comes after the former Made In Chelsea star, who has hit back at trolls for “body shaming” her online, announced that she was set to film a “challenging” new documentary on disordered eating.

Provisionally titled Zara McDermott: Disordered Eating, the one-off film will focus on the considerable rise in eating disorders among young people .

Speaking of the move, she said: “I want to be totally vulnerable in this and totally open to critique and open to helping as many people as I possibly can. I really believe this documentary is going to make a change.

“I’m definitely going to learn and grow and go on a journey myself, and I really want all of you to come with me.”
