Peter Andre’s wife Emily, 32, has spoken out on her battle with acne and her hope that her children won’t feel as self-conscious about their looks as she has.

Emily, who will celebrate her ten year wedding anniversary with Peter, 49 in July, spoke about her teenage years in a new interview with OK! Magazine.

The doctor, who shares two children Millie, eight, and Theo six, with Peter and is also step-mum to his kids with Katie Price, Junior, 16, and Princess, 14, has written a new book aimed at helping teens through their adolescence.

Growing Up For Boys follows on from the success of Emily’s first book Growing Up For Girls, which sees her using her medical knowledge alongside her experience as a mum to guide teenagers through physical and mental changes.

Speaking about her own teenage years, Emily admitted to OK! that she struggled to accept herself after suffering with acne.

‘I had bad skin from 13 and was eventually put on long-term antibiotics from 15,’ she explained. ‘I really struggled with it and I still get spots now.’

‘I was a late bloomer too,’ she added. ‘All my friends developed earlier than me, and I remember worrying that it was never going to happen. It’s only in the last few years I’ve accepted myself properly.’

Speaking about her hopes for her own children, Emily said: ‘I hope they don’t feel self-conscious or anxious and I’d love it if neither of them struggled with their skin like I did.’

She added that her priority with her new book was to promote inclusivity, explaining:

‘I wanted to introduce the idea of gender identity quite gently, as it’s a very important subject. The main message I wanted to try to get across is to be inclusive of everyone and that who you are is OK.’

Emily and Peter enjoyed some time away from their four children with a romantic spa break over the weekend.

Peter shared a gushing post dedicated to his wife as he thanked her for the belated birthday gift.

‘What a wonderful belated birthday present from Emily. Loved every minute. What a place. Been coming here for years and always loved it,’ the Mysterious Girl singer wrote alongside a beaming selfie of the pair.

Peter enjoyed the break after a tough week which saw him take to Instagram to express his annoyance after the size of his manhood was dragged into the Wagatha Christie court case.

The star was at the centre of the courtroom drama last week between Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney, when Rebekah compared his manhood to a ‘chipolata’.

He said he has managed to see the funny side of the manhood reference after it was referenced on day three of Rebekah and Coleen’s court case.

The TV personality took to Instagram to say that despite his positive stance, there would be outrage if a man had made a similar slur about a woman’s anatomy.

‘I’ll be laughing about it for a while, but think about how it would feel if it was the other way around, that’s all I’m saying,’ he said in a video.

He captioned a new video: ‘Here I was this morning sat in my robe feeling like I had to say something. Feel free to come to your own conclusion.

‘Just a couple of things first. Sorry to Emily and the children that have had to see and hear some not very nice things…

‘You all know I like to take the p*** out of myself but maybe I felt a bit vulnerable this morning. Love from an Aussie Brit Greek.’

It comes after Rebekah told London’s High Court that she regretted comparing Peter’s private member to a ‘chipolata’ in a kiss-and-tell newspaper interview.

Rebekah said she had been ‘forced’ to take part in the 2004 News Of The World article by her ex-husband.

She was being cross examined by Mrs Rooney’s lawyer David Sherborne, when he asked her if she respected people’s privacy, to which she replied: ‘Yes, I do.’

He then asked her questions about an interview she gave to the News Of The World about her claimed sexual encounter with singer Peter Andre.

Sherborne showed what appeared to an A3 print out of the article to Rebekah in the witness box before reading the headline: ‘Peter’s hung like a small chipolata, shaved, slobbery, lasts five minutes’.
